A bold, flavor-packed Jollof made with The Saucy AfricanTomato Simmer Sauce. Quick, simple, and irresistibly saucy.
Ingredients
• 1 × 16 oz jar The Saucy African Slow-Cooked Tomato Simmer Sauce (Chicken or Vegetarian)
• 3.5 cups long-grain rice, rinsed
• 2 cups (500 ml) water or broth
• 2 Tbsp oil (neutral or palm)
• 1⁄2 tsp salt (3⁄4 tsp if using Vegetarian Sauce)
• (Optional) 1⁄4–1⁄2 tsp The Saucy African Pepper Heat Blend, for spice
Instructions
1. Heat oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
2. Add The Saucy African Tomato Simmer Sauce directly into the hot oil and cook for 3–5 minutes until fragrant.
3. (Optional) Stir in The Saucy African Pepper Heat Blend for a little kick.
4. Add rinsed rice and stir to coat every grain.
5. Pour in the water or broth and season with salt.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and cover tightly with foil and lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
7. Lower heat to low and cook for another 5–7 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
8. Fluff gently with a fork and serve hot.
