1⁄2 lb (680 g) ground beef, turkey, or chicken
8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
4 cups (950 ml) broth (chicken or vegetable)
1⁄2 cup diced onions
2 Tbsp butter or oil
1⁄2 tsp salt (3⁄4 tsp if using Vegetarian Sauce)
1⁄2 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
2 cups spinach (fresh or frozen)
(Optional) The Saucy African Pepper Heat Blend, to taste
Directions
Heat butter or oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté for 3–4 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
Add ground beef, turkey, or chicken and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed.
Stir in 1 jar of The Saucy African Slow-Cooked Tomato Simmer Sauce and simmer for 3 minutes to build deep flavor.
Pour in broth and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Add broken lasagna noodles and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
Stir in fresh/frozen spinach. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the spinach wilts.
(Optional) Stir in ricotta cheese fresh. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the soup becomes creamy.
Season with salt and The Saucy African Pepper Heat Blend (optional) to taste.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan cheese.
